We are looking for candidates who would be available for a 12-week, full-time residency.


  • The individual provides nursing care adapted to individual patient needs under the close and direct supervision of a preceptor. With the preceptor the resident nurse provides direct patient care, consults with physicians and other nurses, and implements clinical standards and is involved in directed curriculum of oncology educational activities.
  • Ability to operate, or learn to operate, unit-specific equipment as outlined in defined competencies. Skilled to work with a wide range of staff as part of an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff. Able to read, write, understand and communicate in English. Ability to complete mathematical calculation (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, equivalencies). Must have knowledge of human growth and development to modify services to the age and development stage of the patient.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of patient privacy rights.
  • This program will work directly with a preceptor in a full-time role, for around 12 weeks.  In this position you will start the residency by going to multiple floor for the first 3 weeks.   Then, spend the remaining 9 weeks really diving in to the knowledge and technical skills of your assigned department. 



  • Current Washington Registered Nurse State License
  • Strong nursing background 
  • Falls under 1 of the 3 cateogies: (a) Previous SCCA or FHCRC employee, (b) New graduate from UW, SPU, or Seattle U, or (c) At least 5 years nursing experience 


  • 'Go-getter' personality, one who wants to learn 
  • Experience with BMT, Infusion, Telemetry, or oncology
