The Clinical Research Coordinator II is a role in the Clinical Operations- Research Services (CORS) department. The CRC II partners with a Clinical Trials Nurse to represent SCCA Clinical Operations in the review and implementation of clinical trials in the SCCA ambulatory clinic and SCCA Hospital. Responsibilities include coordinating the protocol review process for new studies and modifications to existing treatment protocols and collaborating with study sponsors, research study teams (including Principal Investigators) and clinical service areas to identify and resolve operational issues.


  • Reviews all new clinical research protocols and modifications to existing protocols, assesses studies for clinical operations feasibility
  • Collaborates with clinic staff, ancillary services, and research staff regarding protocol implementation and operations to ensure protocol compliance
  • Works in partnership with research sponsors and study team members to prepare research protocols for enrollment and to identify and mitigate any potential operational challenges
  • Participates in the development of department and/or protocol standard operating procedures and tools
  • Supports development of research orders from drafting through approval
  • Collects and enters data in a timely manner
  • Collects and maintains regulatory documents/key communications
  • Submits reports and documents as required
  • Communicates effectively with internal and external stakeholders



  • Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (ACRP), Certified Clinical Research Professional (SOCRA), or equivalent certification preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical research setting 
  • Ability to understand and follow multiple complex protocols
  • Ability to organize and manage time and tasks independently
  • Ability to develop and/or present content to senior leaders and other groups
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated skills in critical thinking and problem solving
  • Demonstrated process improvement mindset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills


  • Bachelor's degree or 2 years of clinical research experience
  • Oncology research experience, bone marrow transplant (BMT) or cellular immunotherapy experience
  • Experience with Clinical Trials Management System (i.e. OnCore, Velos, etc.)


SCCA has a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy, and there are no exceptions for any employee who is patient-facing and/or requires access to SCCA facilities.
