Bezos Family Immunotherapy Clinic Profile

  • Ground-breaking clinic supporting cellular immunotherapy therapies and clinical trials
  • Our team consists of advanced practice providers, physicians, infusion nurses, clinical nurses coordinators, social worker, dietician, pharmacist, schedulers, research, and lab staff working together to support patients

Responsibilities

  • Assesses physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs and evaluates patients’ adaptation to health changes
  • Develops a plan of care based on patients’ disease, symptoms, and response to treatment
  • Educates patients, families, and caregivers on disease processes, treatment, side effects and symptom management
  • Coordinates with inter-disciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
  • Refers patients, families and caregivers as appropriate to other clinical resources/professionals such as social work, home health care, clinical nutrition, etc.
  • Implements, evaluates and modifies plan of care
  • Integrates research and evidence based knowledge into clinical practice
  • Administers supportive medications, hydration, chemotherapy, blood and cellular products to patients undergoing immunotherapy treatments (if applying for infusion role).
  • Functions as a resource for rotating physician staff regarding standard practice and operations in the clinic.
  • Maintains knowledge of immunotherapy clinical research protocols.
  • Participates in continuous process improvement activities for the department.

In addition to primary responsibilities listed in the job description, the IMTX CTC will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and manages portfolio of clinical trials for the Bezos Family Immunotherapy Clinic
  • Reviews new protocols and protocol order sets to assure they are consistent with SCCA and Immunotherapy clinic policies
  • Collaborates with enterprise partners to support implementation of new cellular immunotherapy protocols
  • Leads or facilitates planning meetings regarding protocol operational readiness or implementation
  • Schedules protocol in-services and training for Immunotherapy clinic staff and maintains training documentation logs
  • Develops educational and resource documents for protocols as needed to support study execution
  • Serves as a resource for staff on protocol related questions
  • Collects data as needed related to clinical trial implementation, training, and execution of trials to support clinic manager
  • Escalates barriers to protocol implementation to the clinic manager
  • Identifies and communicates protocol modifications that impact clinical operations to clinic management
  • Participates in workshops, meetings, sponsor visits, and improvement projects related to protocol implementation

Qualifications

Required:

  • Current Washington State nursing license.
  • Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card (or equivalent course, such as by the American Red Cross) and renewal required every two years
  • ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card (required within 3 months of hire)
  • CITI Good Clinical Practice and Human Subjuects Research Training (required within 3 months of hire)

Preferred

  • Inpatient and/or outpatient oncology experience
  • Experience coordinating or administering clinical trials
  • CITI Good Clinical Practice and Human Subjects Research Training

SCCA has a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy, and there are no exceptions for any employee who is patient-facing and/or requires access to SCCA facilities.

Exceptions exist only for employees whose positions are fully remote, with no required access to campus. As a condition of employment, newly hired employees requiring access to campus must provide proof of vaccination before their first day of employment.
