The Data Platform Team within SCCA Information Technology is responsible for designing, developing and supporting SCCA data systems and integration for both operational and analytical purposes.


Under the guidance of the Data Platform Manager, the Data Systems Analyst is responsible for the translation of business requirements into technical specifications. This role will include data analysis and profiling, and the documentation of technical requirements. This role will also collaborate with business analyst colleagues to refine business requirements.


Data may be acquired and distributed in a variety of ways and will require a willingness to learn and troubleshoot multiple systems. The Data Systems Analyst will work with team members, end users, and other stakeholders to provide solutions with high data integrity and value. As a member of an agile team, the Data Systems Analyst will participate in daily and weekly meetings to coordinate efforts.


  • Translate the business requirements into implementable technical requirements, including source-to-target mapping.
  • Perform end-to-end data analysis and ensure data quality gaps are identified
  • Work with Business Analysis team and Analytics stakeholders to understand and refine use cases and business requirements
  • Investigate and document a variety of source systems from both technical and business perspectives
  • Communicate and resolve issues and questions during the design, development, testing, and release of data solutions
  • Collaborate with other members of the Data Platform team, IT, and Business partners
  • Work on multiple projects in parallel



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Some data analysis/profiling experience
  • Some knowledge and experience with relational and dimensional database principles
  • Some knowledge and experience in translating business requirements into flexible/extensible/simple and elegant solutions
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills, including an ability to effectively communicate using multiple methods with both technical and non-technical teams


  • B.Sc or M.Sc degree in quantitative field (Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, etc.), or equivalent training or professional experience
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with Cerner and/or Epic healthcare systems
  • Familiarity with healthcare financial and/or clinical data
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and data warehousing security best practices
  • Familiarity with the Systems/Software Development Life Cycle
  • Experience with Agile software development
