Overview

The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.

 

We're seeking a Sr. Epic Ambulatory Application Analyst with Oncology/Beacon experience for a FTE opportunity located in Seattle, WA. This position will lead the system design and build efforts for the EpicCare Ambulatory foundation of our EHR at SCCA with a focus on optimizing usability and improving user experience. 

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities include:

 

  • Develop and optimize outpatient oncology user system workflows for maximum usability.
  • Lead analyst for new department system design and build.
  • Provide application support, technical guidance, and serves as primary resolution point for EpicCare Ambulatory issues at SCCA. 
  • Acts as user liaison between clinical or business departments and Information Systems; providing domain expertise and experience for multiple interacting healthcare departments and institutions.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalanet
  • Four years of IT experience
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Able to rapidly solve IT systems problems that interfere with or disable clinical operations.
  • Ability to identify and triage issues appropriately. 
  • Ability to organize and  prioritize concurrent responsibilities and demands.
  • Ability to use initiative and sound judgment in carrying out responsibilities.
  • Ability to meet timelines for assigned tasks.
  • Ability to train others in how to use systems.
  • Ability to build relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
  • Ability to work in a complex, fast paced, health care environment.
  • Demonstrated interest in advancing technical capability. 
  • Customer service skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or Information Technology
  • Experience supporting oncology application/workflows in complex healthcare setting 
  • Beacon certification
  • 5+ years experience as EpicCare Ambulatory or Beacon role
  • EpicCare Ambulatory Certiification
  • Oncology Research system knowledge/experience
  • MS Visio, Excel
  • Transact SQL
  • Crystal Reports

SCCA has a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy, and there are no exceptions for any employee who is patient-facing and/or requires access to SCCA facilities.
