Responsibilities

  • Supports and ensures smooth workflow of the department and daily patient management
  • Comprehends a multitude of work and tasks related to radiology internally and externally to the department, division, and clinic partners
  • Understands and utilizes a network of computer systems for processing patient information and image studies
  • Completes transcription for breast imaging exams including but not limited to screenings, diagnostics, ultrasounds, and breast imaging procedures.
  • Acts as a liaison between patients, imaging team, and providers to ensure timely and complete breast imaging care and follow up
  • Participates in obtaining necessary medical/imaging records for imaging appointments and communicates with technologists, nurses, and radiologists prior to and on the day of clinic appointment  
  • Coordinates the scheduling process for additional diagnostic imaging needs of patients post Screening Mammography.
  • Collaborates with the clinicians throughout the scheduling process, responding to requests and provides accurate information in a timely manner.
  • Monitors and participates in tracking of breast biopsy outcomes
  • Performs regulatory compliance data entry and analysis including QA measures to support accreditation and compliance in partnership with the Quality Control Technologist, Breast Imaging Nurse and Breast Imaging Supervisor  
  • Contact’s providers offices for actionable items related to breast MRIs
  • Interacts with physicians, staff, visitors, and patients in a courteous, engaging, and helpful manner

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the American Association of Medical Assistants or the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA)
  • Certification Medical Assistant in the State of Washington and must be familiar with the State's conduct and standards of practice.
  • Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card (or equivalent course, such as by the American Red Cross) and renewal required every two years.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, complex healthcare environment
  • Strong interpersonal and customer services skills
  • Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and problem solve
  • Ability to follow direction and guidance
  • Ability to recognize limitations and seek help
  • Ability to identify learning needs and plan learning opportunities

 

SCCA has a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy, and there are no exceptions for any employee who is patient-facing and/or requires access to SCCA facilities.

Exceptions exist only for employees whose positions are fully remote, with no required access to campus. As a condition of employment, newly hired employees requiring access to campus must provide proof of vaccination before their first day of employment.
