The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.

The ARNP/PA-C is a certified physician assistant or advanced registered nurse practitioner who provides evaluation and medical management of patients on early phase clinical trials spanning multiple oncology disease groups at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. They follow patients during their chemotherapy and provide medical supportive care, as well as surveillance after completion of treatment. The ARNP/PA-C assesses and manages basic health needs of patients, addresses treatment toxicities, performs procedures, monitors for cancer progression or recurrence, and consults with professional peers as needed. Additional research duties include grading toxicities, answering sponsor queries, reconsenting patients, reviewing patient eligibility and assisting in feasibility assessments for upcoming studies. They work collaboratively with the treatment team to coordinate care of their patients. All clinical responsibilities are performed within the scope of practice, institutional privileges and under the supervision of an attending physician.

SCCA has a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy, and there are no exceptions for any employee who is patient-facing and/or requires access to SCCA facilities. Exceptions exist only for employees whose positions are fully remote, with no required access to campus. As a condition of employment, newly hired employees requiring access to campus must provide proof of vaccination before their first day of employment.
