The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.
As a licensed acupuncturist, you will provide intensive symptom and side effect management as a member of a multidisciplinary care team in SCCA's outpatient clinic. This role will collaborate closely with a core team that includes the IM Medical Director, nurse practitioners, yoga therapists, nutritionists, social workers, physical therapists, psychiatry, pain management and palliative care clinics, and clinical researchers. This role requires highly-developed clinical skills and the ability to work with a diverse oncology population. This position will report to the SCCA Acupuncture Supervisor, and work in partnership with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center's Public Health Sciences and Clinical Research Divisions.
SCCA is seeking a per diem acupuncturist within the Integrative Medicine department to provide direct patient care treatments as part of a clinical research study. The estimated time commitment is 4-8 hours per week dependent on patient accrual. Specific hours will be variable. This grant funded position is expected to have a 12 month duration.
