The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.

Under the oversight of the Strategy Division, the Strategic Outreach and Affiliate Network Office oversees an array of responsibilities in the service of Seattle Cancer Care Alliance’s goal of improving cancer care, regionally and beyond. We strive to further the reach of the SCCA’s expertise and knowledge by developing new relationships through local, regional and national events and conferences as well as maintain and cultivate deeper relationships with our existing partners. As the external ambassadors of the organization, we manage a diverse body of work including overseeing the Affiliate Network Program, managing the physician targeted outreach for the organization as well as community outreach and education for our Community Oncology cancer centers in the area.

The Oncology Outreach Liaison serves a key role in developing and implementing outreach strategies for SCCA’s growing Programs, including Geographic locations across the Puget Sound. This role will function as part of a cohesive outreach team organized by regional territories, responsible for the analysis, development and implementation of outreach plans, targeting potential referral sources to drive growth for SCCA oncology programs. Tactics will include coordination of physician to physician interactions, acting as a liaison and representative of the organization to community practices, and executing a variety of outreach efforts and events. This position requires a dynamic person who can work with complex groups of providers and administrative leaders to translate their business goals into outreach tactics, during an exciting time of growth for SCCA.


Under the general direction of the Strategic Outreach leadership, and in partnership with SCCA Service Line Management and individual Sites of Care, the Outreach Liaison will support the execution of outreach plans that impact multiple organizations and departments with differing levels of complexity.


Grow Data-Driven Oncology Referrals to SCCA:

  • Development of outreach plans for SCCA sites of care, including Community Practice locations, aligned with SCCA-wide outreach and messaging.
  • Support Geographic Expansion efforts as SCCA opens oncology services in new locations, as part of SCCA’s geographic expansion plan.
  • Partner and meet regularly with program and clinical leaders; develop deep understanding of factors influencing priorities for each program.
  • Participate in service line and community oncology leadership meetings, analyze data and create reports to be shown regularly as a report to leadership.
  • Develop fluency for disease specific clinical priorities for SCCA’s sites of care, including partnered sites; translate into actionable communications with regional providers and their staff, for improved relationships.  
  • Design and build outreach dashboards to measure and track success of outreach efforts. Dashboards will integrate with comprehensive SCCA Outreach activities, to measure and track success of collective outreach efforts.
  • Under the direction of Strategic Outreach leadership, assist with the creation of referral database using internal and external tools, while analyzing data from existing sources.


Execution of Outreach Plans:

  • Serve as a member of SCCA’s cohesive strategic outreach team, spanning community practice and geographic expansion, affiliate network and service line, to tell the whole SCCA story.
  • Execute outreach plans to include CME events, invitations for providers and medical professionals to collaborate with SCCA to serve oncology patients , community outreach events and digital engagement strategies.
  • Act as physician liaison representing SCCA sites of care in the community, regularly meeting with and presenting to physician audiences
  • Coordinate event logistics and travel for outreach events and to network sites.
  • Assist with projects including researching and compiling information as well as writing and editing content for external audiences.
  • Participate in the development, printing and dissemination of marketing materials that tell the whole SCCA story with focus on individual sites of care, by collaborating closely with the SCCA marketing team.
  • Support budgeting process by tracking associated expenses by site and activity, reconcile budget for reporting.


Frequent Travel: This role will actively participate in local or regional travel for outreach events. More than 50% of time is spent in the field with primary and secondary territory assignment, and up to 20% additional travel outside of the area for national conferences and network affiliate activities.


  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of progressively complex administrative and project management experience in a healthcare setting – oncology strongly preferred
  • Experience in strategic engagement and marketing in a healthcare setting to include: community outreach/special event planning, marketing, presentation skills, planning, physician liaison work
  • Knowledge of the local healthcare marketplace and physician dynamics
  • Intrinsically motivated and able to create innovative ideas to achieve results. Recognizes and seizes opportunities while representing the mission, visions and values of the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to express oneself clearly and empathetically in interactions with others in all forms of communications required
  • Ability to work independently, problem solve, set priorities and handle multiple projects efficiently and effectively
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required. Experience with Tableau Data Software, CRM systems, and SharePoint preferred
  • Must have a valid Washington Driver’s license and ability to travel
  • Comfortable presenting to large audiences and interacting with physician leaders
