The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.
The SCCA House Supervisor (HS) is responsible for ensuring that departments are staffed in accordance with established guidelines, with quality, patient safety and fiduciary expectations in mind. The HS acts as the single point of contact for physicians, departments, nursing and administrative management team, to assist in the timely and accurate placement of patients, and all aspects of patient movement and coordination of care.
The House Supervisor is also responsible for coordinating patient transfers & admissions to the SCCA hospital, University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC), or Seattle Children’s Hospital (SCH). The HS oversees the work of the Transition Coordinator(s) to achieve these goals. The HS works closely with the Administrator On-Call (AOC) to appropriately navigate both routine and unexpected situations that can affect patients or staff.
