Overview

The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.

 

The Senior Manager is responsible for planning, directing and monitoring the work of the Patient Accounting staff within the Revenue Cycle Department. This role is responsible for working across functions within SCCA along with partner organizations to ensure collaboration to meet departmental/organizational goals and objectives. When appropriate, will have the authority to make decisions for department's work operations and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall management of designated work area
  • Analyze and monitor departmental metrics to ensure continued relevance and achievement of goals
  • Partner with all levels of organization to ensure accurate and timely billing and collection of hospital accounts
  • Responsible for management of escalated issues to resolution
  • Represent Revenue Cycle in meetings and on projects
  • Serve as a department point-of-contact and a subject matter expert for nursing, physicians, pharmacists and other clinic staff
  • Serve as lead for intra-departmental projects and initiatives
  • Responsible for the effective management of assigned budget(s)
  • Assist Director and Associate Director with establishing and executing strategies related to organization's strategic goals
  • Responsible for monitoring of high dollar and aged accounts and notifying Associate Director and/or Director of potential financial risk
  • Coordinates and develops effective monitoring of department's performance metrics
  • Establish and maintain process improvement (CPI) and efficiencies within department

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. Work experience can substitute education requirements
  • Minimum 5 years management experience with patient registration, financial clearance and revenue cycle administration
  • Minimum of two years Epic Hospital Billing (HB) experience required, experience with lock box and banking institutions strongly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to empathize and conduct difficult conversations
  • Knowledge of Revenue Cycle operations
  • Knowledge of payors' billing requirements and payment terminology
  • Ability to collect and analyze data for performance and service metrics
  • Ability to navigate payor/payor related online systems
