    The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.

     

    The Analyst performs data discovery, reporting and analysis to support organization’s Revenue Cycle processes and ensure proper payment to organization.

    Responsibilities

    • Collaborate interdepartmentally to develop actionable reports to analyze and streamline Revenue Cycle workflows and hospital service reimbursement
    • Utilize technical platforms, such as SQL Server and Tableau, to Translate business problems into actionable recommendations
    • Conduct data discovery and analysis from financial and clinical data to generate and test working hypotheses, uncover interesting relationships and identify data quality issues
    • Identify and implement areas of improvements such as automation of processes, increasing the level of data accuracy or decreasing the time spent to update a model or report
    • Maintain current dashboards and reports, updating as necessary, to allow for optimal end user experience
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) required - preferably in Business, Finance, Economics, Informatics or a related field
    • 3 years of analytic experience, preferably in a healthcare environment, consulting, or relevant experience
    • Detail oriented with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision with a wide degree of creativity and latitude
    • Ability to apply critical thinking and analytic skills to research and interpret complex data, formulate recommendations, and resolve problems
    • Interested in and comfortable with working cross-departmentally and communicating across all levels of the organization
    • Comfortable working in a task-variable and complex health care environment, with the ability to effectively prioritize concurrent responsibilities and meet timelines
    • Ability to grasp and apply new concepts quickly
    • Experience in data-modeling with large data sets and communication of findings to a wide audience in a clear and concise manner
    • Advanced Excel skills and experience with database tools such as SQL Server and Access

    Preferred:

    • Experience with Hospital Revenue Cycle and/or hospital billing data and analysis
    • Experience with SQL and Tableau
