    The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.

     

    SCCA’s Financial Analytics Team combines financial expertise, business acumen and the power of data to provide deep insight and actionable recommendations to help SCCA leaders make informed business decisions. The Senior Financial Analyst will join a small and growing team of innovative, results-oriented and collaborative professionals who employ advanced financial analysis.

    Responsibilities

    • Performs financial analysis, including historical and predictive
    • Prepares executive presentations demonstrating a mastery of the financial details to develop actionable recommendations
    • Builds driver-based models in support of business cases, rolling forecasts and budgets
    • Conducts financial modeling to analyze and determine the financial impact of recommended action plans. Highlights issues and alternative courses of action
    • Build positive, productive relationships with business partners to understand their information needs, identify opportunities, and ensure we add value
    • Develop a robust understanding of SCCA’s data and data systems – financial and operational – to ensure effective, reliable, and responsible use of data
    • Build solutions that address complex business problems, derive actionable insights, and maximize decision-making confidence, while being easy to refresh
    • Create data visualizations for financial and non-financial, technical and non-technical audiences

    Qualifications

    Required

    • BA/BS in Finance, statistics, or similar degree
    • 5+ years of applicable financial analytics experience
    • Passion for analyzing data to drive decision making
    • Strong analytical skills and great attention to detail
    • Experience with predictive modeling and leading indicators
    • Solid financial skills, including a working understanding of the income statement.
    • Ability to succinctly synthesize findings; excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Demonstrated ability to perform analysis to provide business insight and recommendations to solve complex business problems
    • Ability to apply critical thinking and analytic skills to formulate recommendations and resolve problems.
    • Extensive experience building and maintaining driver-based models
    • Extensive experience in exploratory data analysis, data visualization
    • Proficient with Excel functionality such as lookups, pivot tables, and charts, and comfortable working with large data sets.
    • Experience with other financial software programs such as Kaufman Hall/Axiom, Tableau, PeopleSoft.
    • Experience with SQL relational databases
    • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with financial and non-financial and technical and non-technical audiences
    • High degree of personal initiative and strong problem-solving skills
    • Ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities and meet timelines.
    • Able to grasp and apply new concepts quickly.
    • Ability to work in a high pressure, deadline oriented, and complex health care environment
    • Ability to multi-task and work independently with limited guidance

     

    Preferred

    • Healthcare industry experience
    • MBA
    • Previous experience as a Senior Analyst
