Job summary and scope of responsibilities:
This position is a Daily Operations Manager for the Alliance Lab Testing Department at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. The position oversees Hematology and Chemistry testing and Staff of Laboratory Scientists. The position reports to the Alliance Lab Senior Manager.
- Responsible for the daily operations of Alliance Lab Testing Services, which includes hematology, and chemistry. Responsibilities include the coordination and monitoring of SCCA and departmental policies and procedures, quality control, quality assurance and quality improvement, equipment and supply inventories, troubleshooting, staffing, preventative maintenance, safety, and continuing education. Maintain responsibility for testing services (7070) and reference lab (7080) budgets, including pricing, preparation, monitoring and investigation and reporting of variances.
- Responsible for oversight of the Specimen Processing area, which works under the direct supervision of the Specimen Processing Services (SPS) Supervisor. Responsible for the procedures and processes in the Transfusion Support Services area.
- Works independently in managing departmental functions within the framework of department and division policies and procedures.
