The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.
The Respiratory Care Practitioner works under the direction of the department medical director to conduct diagnostic evaluations of normal and abnormal pulmonary conditions by administering a variety of tests to patients (spirometry lung volumes, blood gas draw, exercise testing). This position has knowledge of and follows guidelines for the standardization of spirometry equipment and performance as established by the American Thoracic Society (ATS). Responsibilities include performing computer data entry, patient scheduling, administration of bronchodilators, and assisting/performing equipment calibration, quality control checks and supply ordering and inventory. This position maintains adherence to appropriate billing and compliance issues
