The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.
The Team Coordinator is a member of the care service team and acts as a professional liaison for patients and families, care providers, as well as other SCCA departments. The role uses critical thinking skills to facilitate and operationalize complex scheduling requests through heavy use of multiple computer systems.
The scope of responsibilities include working independently to check in and schedule patients for imaging exams and procedures done in the Imaging Department at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), the SCCA Mobile Mammography program and the Roosevelt Mammography Outpatient Center for the University of Washington.
Effective communication with the patients, the department supervisors and leads and outside physician’s offices is required. The individual works independently and is expected to use initiative and sound judgment to accomplish their duties in an accurate and timely manner. They must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of patient confidentiality of all medical, financial or other sensitive material relate to patient care in accordance with HIPAA laws.
