    Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, UW Medicine, and Seattle Children's.     The Content Producer will work on the Marketing and Communications team at SCCA. The content producer will seek out and tell the dynamic stories of SCCA across all of the organization’s communications channels – including the online elements, patient and referring physician printed materials, internal communications, direct mail, broadcast content, press and fundraising materials. The Content Producer will collaborate with designers, producers, and web developers to ensure alignment for content and execution. The candidate must be an efficient, articulate and creative writer with strong experience in health and science writing, a stickler for style, grammar and accuracy, and have a passion for discovering and telling the stories of SCCA. The position will report to the Director, Marketing and Communications. 

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

    • Execute on an integrated content strategy that elevates and illuminates SCCA content across all mediums – printed collateral, web copy, video creation, production, social media, among others..
    • Collaborate as part of a proactive team of writer/editors who are responsible for the foundational voice and content for the organization.
    • Develop, report and write compelling content from a variety of viewpoints and to deliver messages to varied audiences.
    • Produce and edit web pages, video content.
    • Project manage SCCA projects as assigned to deliver content that is on time and on budget.
    • Create and maintain content and style guidelines.
    • Work with designers, producers and developers to ensure strategic alignment and execution.
    • Develop collaborative relationships across SCCA, including clinical care, service line management, administration, development, and other functions.
    • Set the bar for executional excellence and professionalism.

    Qualifications

    Summary of Experience (Required)

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or creative related field.
    • 5+ years in the development and execution of content across multiple forms and mediums.
    • Compelling portfolio of published work.
    • Experience collaborating with visual journalists, designers and web producers.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Required)
    •  
    • Expertise in reporting, writing and editing in a fast-paced digital environment.
    • A passion for storytelling in all formats.
    • Experience in writing about health and/or science.
    • Project management experience specifically related to the delivery of a creative product.
    • Demonstrated ability to set and meet deadlines and budgets.
    • Broad understanding and experience producing for digital channels and social media, including traditional (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest) and emerging players.
    • Proficiency in search engine optimization best practices.
    • Familiarity and experience producing for websites; familiarity with web content management systems strongly preferred.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with developers, stakeholders, clients and producers.
    • Deadline-driven with a track record of completing and delivering quality product.
    • Strong organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail is essential
    • Must be comfortable learning and using new technologies.
