    The Medical Assistant participates as a team member in the overall functioning of the clinic. The Medical Assistant is responsible for the flow of the patients for assigned providers (as applicable) each day. They perform duties and procedures as described in the Primary Responsibilities section.



    Performs basic technical skills:

    • Demonstrates proficiency in CPR.
    • Takes and records vital signs in ORCA.
    • Recognizes and immediately reports abnormal vital signs and symptoms.
    • Demonstrates sensitivity to patient’s/families emotional, social, and mental health needs.

    Performs basic personal care skills.

    • Documents procedures and results on appropriate patient care records.
    • Demonstrates behavior which maintains and respects patient’s rights and privacy, as well as promotes independence.
    • Recognizes stages of growth and development and responds appropriately to provide care


    • Uses Glovo and Sabina lift safely and appropriately.
    • Transports stable patients, at the direction of the RN.
    • Retrieves charts at the direction of the RN.
    • Acts as a courier for the RN as e.g. supplies, medications from pharmacy.
    • Faxes orders and documents and makes copies at the direction of the RN.
    • Restocks infusion room supplies.
    • Changes bed linens and cleans patient care areas after each patient visit.
    • Obtains supplies from MSC at the direction of the RN.
    • Orients patients and family members to Nourishment Center.
    • Restocks linen supplies, including the blanket warmer.
    • Uses proper precautions for handling of excreta from patients receiving hazardous drugs.


    Certification as a MA assistant in the state of Washington required.
    Knowledge of human growth and development to modify care to age and developmental stage of the patient.
    Physically able to perform the tasks of the role, such as walking, standing, pushing, and bending; lifting patients, equipment and linen supplies; and performing nursing procedures. BLS certification
