Medical Staff Services is responsible for the central administrative management of the SCCA Medical Staff.  The Project Coordinator is a member of the Medical Staff Service team. The project coordinator interfaces and works collaboratively with the SCCA medical staff, colleagues at SCCA, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington and Seattle Children’s Hospital.  The incumbent reports to the Manager of Medical Staff Services. The incumbent works independently in performing daily responsibilities under minimal supervision.  This position requires a highly-skilled, motivated and dedicated coordinator.


Onboarding, credentialing and privileging of Medical staff; coordinating Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE) and Focused Professional Practice Evaluations (FPPE); coordinating Graduate Medical Education clinical training, coordination of quality data for providers.  Responsible for MS Access database.  Each team member is responsible for Continuous Performance Improvement (CPI) to improve value for patients.  The incumbent continually seeks ways to improve individual and departmental performance and processes; communicates these innovations to department leadership and works collaboratively with other department members to implement appropriate performance improvement processes. 


Medical Staff Coordinators participate and develop projects and administrative materials, perform complex project assignments, skillfully communicate complex and sensitive issues, exercising initiative and judgment in prioritizing activities and in decision-making within the scope of assigned authority. 


Medical Staff Coordinators interface and work collaboratively with the SCCA medical staff,  SCCA leadership and colleagues at SCCA, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington and University of Washington.


Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Four years progressively complex administrative responsibility
  • Administrative experience in academic oncology
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to effectively manage deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications especially MS Access
